Freight Forwarding Clerk - Land Transport & a Bit of Air Freight

Initial Situation

For a top corporate client - a forwarding company in Basel - we are looking for a good freight forwarding clerk. Preferably with experience in land transport and (ideally) some knowledge of air freight.
Not a common combination - land transport & air freight... But exciting... ;-)

Tasks

• Handling and coordinating European and international transports for a key account (focus on land transport import/export/cross-trade, plus a bit of air freight import/export)
• Supporting and maintaining the customer on an operational level/in daily business (including internal clarifications on customs issues and accounting, etc).
• Monitoring and executing forwarding administrative processes (keeping an eye on invoicing, checking incoming invoices, invoicing processed shipments)
• Handling general commercial activities related to the forwarding business

Requirements

Completed apprenticeship as a freight forwarding clerk
3-4 years of experience in the land transport sector

IT

MS Office user knowledge (only Word/Excel)
Company-specific forwarding software

Languages

German: spoken and written very good
English: spoken and written good (at forwarding level)
Additional foreign languages: a plus
