Senior Legal Counsel DACH (m/f/d) – Medical Devices / Pharmaceuticals

As Senior Legal Counsel DACH (m/f/d) at our location in Fribourg (preferred) or Geneva, you will be part of our Legal & Compliance Team DACH. In this role, you will support in particular the Swiss business and, if necessary, the markets of Austria and Germany. You will provide legal advice to our business areas Surgical and Vision Care, work closely with internal stakeholders as well as regional and global teams, and act as a trusted business partner for operational activities. In doing so, you will significantly contribute to minimising legal risks and developing practical solutions for complex business issues.

A typical working day in this role includes:

• Legal advice to the business areas Surgical and Vision Care in the fields of medical device, pharmaceutical, competition, antitrust, contract, and data protection law
• Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts with hospitals, purchasing groups, wholesalers, optician chains, and other business partners
• Collaborating with commercial teams to develop practical solutions for complex legal and business issues
• Supporting marketing and sales activities, including digital and social media initiatives, as well as advising on compliance matters
• Contributing to the development of policies, standard contracts, and processes, and working with external legal advisors and international legal teams

WHAT YOU BRING TO ALCON:

• Full legal qualification, ideally admitted to practice in Switzerland
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position in an international company or an international law firm
• Sound knowledge of general commercial law and preferably experience in legal advice for companies in the healthcare sector, especially in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
• Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken; French skills are desirable
• Strong communication and negotiation skills as well as a pragmatic, solution-oriented advisory approach
• Confident manner and the ability to convey complex legal topics clearly and appropriately to the audience
• High initiative and enjoyment of working in a small, dynamic team
