A day in the life of the Head of Compliance:
As a head of the compliance you ensure that the company stays ahead of regulatory requirements while supporting business growth. By leading inspiring the compliance team you will review new initiatives for potential risks, and advise senior management on strategic decisions. You interact with regulators and auditors, keep the board informed and proactively shape culture of integrity and transparency across the organization.
Key responsibilities:
Regulatory :
- Ensure compliance with VQF regulations and any SRO rules
- Maintain Leva’s status as an affiliated financial intermediary
- Act as main contact for VQF and external auditors during inspections and reviews
Anti-Money Laundering :
- Supervise the Money Laundering reporting officer
- Oversee client CDD and EDD in line with the requirements
- Monitor transactions for suspicious activity
- Ensure regular AML training for the company
Risk assessment & Internal controls:
- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and thematic reviews
- Ensure controls are in place to prevent insider trading, market manipulation and conflict of interest
Governance and reporting:
- Report to the Board of Directors and executive management on compliance matters
- Ensure proper documentation for regulatory reporting and internal audits
Training :
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs for all employees
Qualifications required:
- High level of integrity and professional ethics
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication (verbal and written)
- Strong time management and work organization
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Good knowledge of Swiss AML laws and regulations
- Fluency in German and English; other languages are an advantage
Education and Background
- At least 5 years prior experience with Compliance and/or AFC/AML in the financial intermediary sector
- Higher degree in Law or Economics (CAS or DAS are a plus)
- Domicile in Switzerland mandatory
