at the Office for Spatial Development in Sion

The overarching task of the Office for Spatial Development is to ensure the coordination of human activities with spatial impacts by planning the development of the cantonal territory and supporting the stakeholders.

Your tasks

• You contribute significantly to the implementation and further development of the cantonal structure plan, especially regarding projects of inter-municipal cooperation (agglomeration programmes, inter-municipal structure plans, etc.)
• You contribute to the further development of the cantonal legal foundations
• According to the various roles of the office (management, coordination, support), you contribute to the development of planning instruments (plans, reports, regulations) at the federal, cantonal, inter-municipal and municipal levels as well as guidelines, recommendations or basic studies
• You prepare preliminary opinions and statements on dossiers during consultations from the perspective of legality and expediency
• Based on an analysis, you advise municipalities and their contractors (spatial planners, architects, ...) as well as third parties (owners, companies, ...) in their considerations regarding planning instruments
• You ensure the coherence of spatially effective projects and the conformity of planning instruments with federal and cantonal laws as well as with federal sectoral plans and the cantonal structure plan in the territorial areas
• You ensure coordination between the various partners (federal offices, municipalities, contractors, offices) within the framework of the processing or development of planning instruments

Your profile 

• You have a university degree in geography, engineering, architecture or an equivalent qualification
• You have several years of experience in a private office or in administration
• You have a sense for interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork as well as for autonomy and initiative
• You are able to think conceptually and analytically
• You are willing to further develop your specific skills
• You speak German or French with very good knowledge of the second official language
• You are resilient and not destabilised by the difficult conditions of a constantly changing environment
• Good knowledge of planning methods and GIS is an advantage
