Together uniquely on the way We are the Foundation for Blind and Visually Impaired Children and Youth Zollikofen - a private, politically and denominationally neutral organization with a non-profit objective. Our task is to support and accompany people with special needs from birth to young adulthood. We offer additional services to parents, teachers of public regular schools and special elementary schools, as well as to professionals. Our core competencies lie in the support and accompaniment of young people with visual impairments, blindness, multiple disabilities, or from the autism spectrum.

Tasks

This is what you can achieve with us: You coach young people in the career choice process and in finding an apprenticeship, a further school, or another follow-up solution. For this, you plan individual lessons on career choice and conduct them. You contact companies for trial placements, internships, or apprenticeships and accompany the students, for example, during the placements and at job interviews. You involve the parents in the process and advise them. You form a team together with the coaches for apprentices and students of the Outpatient Service. Additionally, you regularly exchange information with the IV offices as well as other internal and external professionals and prepare applications and reports. You take the lead in developing the concept for career choice and can significantly shape it. The working days are Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. If you desire a higher employment rate: This position can be well combined with the position as Bistro staff 15%, each on Thursday, or with teaching activities by arrangement.

Requirements

What you bring: With training in social work, primary education, clinical special education, or a comparable qualification and several years of professional experience in the social or educational field, you have acquired the necessary skills for this role. Ideally, you also bring coaching training and very good knowledge of social insurance. You are a networker, have knowledge of professions and vocational training in the first and second labor markets, communicate appropriately to the target group, and organize your work independently and goal-oriented.
