The Senior Engineer District II of the cantonal civil engineering office is responsible in the Bernese Midlands for the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of the cantonal roads. It supervises the waters and is responsible for hydraulic engineering on the Aare from the Aare Gorge to Wynau.
Your tasks
- As the client representative, you lead your own hydraulic engineering projects on the Aare from planning to realisation. In doing so, you lead interdisciplinary planning teams, ensure appropriate project communication, coordinate construction sites and represent your projects to authorities and the public.
- You advise, support and supervise municipalities obliged to hydraulic engineering in the planning and implementation of municipal hydraulic engineering projects as well as in the maintenance of waters.
- The assessment of building applications on waters and in natural hazard areas rounds off your diverse range of tasks.
Your profile
- You have a qualification as a civil engineer ETH/FH, geographer or a comparable university degree.
- You have several years of experience and sound knowledge in contemporary hydraulic engineering and in dealing with the natural hazard process water.
- You are characterised by great professional competence, independence as well as communicative skills in dealing with authorities, the public and the media.
- You are articulate in written and spoken expression and bring team spirit.
