About the job
We are thrilled to have welcomed three new apprentice health professionals to Spitex Niesen in August. The desire to inspire even more young people to pursue nursing remains – which is why last year we created a new opportunity together with now Frutigland AG, allowing training to be completed in two companies.
This project required a lot of preparation and coordination so that we are ready when the first apprentice wants to start this combined training. Unfortunately, we could not recruit anyone for this year, but we are optimistic about finding apprentices for this model in 2025. Ideally, there would be two apprentices so that each company supervises one apprentice according to the following model:
Now Frutigland Apprentice 1 (Focus on Long-term Care)Apprentice 2 (Focus on Spitex)Apprentice 1 (Focus on Long-term Care)Apprentice 2 (Focus on Spitex)Apprentice 1 (Focus on Long-term Care)Apprentice 2 (Focus on Spitex)What are the advantages of training in partnership? Apprentices get to know both the Spitex and long-term care sectors. When they complete their training, they already have experience in both areas. This means they have more practical case examples and are well acquainted with the interfaces. The apprenticeship becomes more varied and engaging, but also more demanding. Apprentices can benefit from the offerings of both companies, such as learning islands in the long-term care sector or support in obtaining a driving licence in the Spitex sector.
What are the requirements? For this training model, we are looking for stable personalities with solid school performance. Those who want to choose this – undoubtedly more demanding in many parts – model must have previously gained experience in each area. This training variant is an ideal foundation for young people aiming to become nursing professionals later. Regarding the training location, the now houses (Frutigen and Reichenbach), as well as we from Spitex, are open. It is also possible to carry out the offer unilaterally.
Celine Müller is in her third year of training at Spitex. She looks back enthusiastically on her six-week exchange at now Fröschenmoos. "If this model had existed earlier, I would have chosen it!"
