Your new tasks
- Planning, development, and procurement of innovative, market- and profit-oriented assortments in the area of bedroom furniture in close cooperation with the Category Manager
- Market observation and detection of new trends and brands
- Analyzing and realizing purchasing-relevant KPIs such as sales, margin, inventory, as well as assortment breadth and depth.
- Planning and ensuring attractive product presentation at the POS
- Planning offers and participating in marketing measures (brochures, advertisements, events, etc.)
- Purchasing activities domestically and abroad (supplier visits, trade fairs, GIGA/XXXL committee)
- Close cooperation with internal and external interfaces such as Visual Merchandising, Marketing, branches, E-Commerce, and suppliers
- Maintenance and development of supplier relationships to ensure the best quality and to identify opportunities in assortments and promotions early
- Close contact with the sales front in German-speaking Switzerland, French-speaking Switzerland, and Ticino
- Leadership and development of an assistant
What you bring with you
- Commercial training with business management further education
- Several years of professional experience in purchasing in the Swiss retail/consumer goods market
- Flair for trends, innovations, and conceptual assortment design
- Strong cooperation skills with negotiation skills and assertiveness
- Analytical skills, quick comprehension, strategic thinking, and expertise in determining, evaluating, and interpreting KPIs
- Quick comprehension, structured and reliable working style
- Strong interconnected thinking
- Very good MS Office skills (especially Excel)
- Flexibility for travel activities
- Leadership experience characterized by team cohesion and transparent communication at eye level as well as sustainable development of employees
- Good knowledge of English is a prerequisite
- Initiative, healthy assertiveness, and responsibility
- Team player with passion and motivation
- Good knowledge of French and Italian
- A strong affinity for bedroom furniture
- SAP knowledge (ERP system)
