The position is limited to 12 months, an extension may be possible.
At the Historical Institute of the University of Bern, we research and teach history in its full thematic breadth and methodological diversity. The research focuses on the history of Europe from antiquity to the present as well as on the historical past of non-European regions.
Tasks
- Development of a doctoral project with a view to a possible submission of a research proposal
Requirements
- Master's degree or an equivalent degree in history
- Independent and reliable working style
- Regular presence in Bern and participation in institute life
- Enrollment at the University of Bern for the spring semester 2026
