About us
The Building Department Canton Zurich manages one of the largest art collections in Switzerland. Since 1908, the canton of Zurich has been collecting works by artists with a local connection. The Art Collection Office mainly presents these objects in publicly and semi-publicly accessible cantonal spaces, such as in central administration, offices, schools, notaries, or hospitals. Canton employees also have the opportunity to borrow artworks for their offices from the art library. The office is also responsible for the art-and-construction projects that the canton associates with its construction projects.
