Job Description
YOUR MISSION
As part of a newly created position, we are looking for a General Services Manager responsible for overseeing all activities related to buildings and infrastructure, occupational health, safety and security, as well as first-level IT support on site.
A true partner of operations, you ensure the availability, safety and performance of these areas. You play a key role in project management and continuous improvement of the working environment, in close collaboration with internal and external partners.
You will be responsible for ensuring the site’s regulatory compliance across all areas related to infrastructure, occupational health and safety, fire protection, security, environment and applicable legal obligations.
Your activities will include:
Management and Leadership
- Supervise, lead and develop a multidisciplinary team.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and results-oriented work climate.
- Develop team cohesion and support employees in their skills development.
- Unite the various stakeholders around common objectives.
General Services, Building and Infrastructure
- Ensure the management and proper functioning of buildings, installations and site infrastructure.
- Guarantee maintenance, upkeep and evolution of equipment.
- Manage external service providers and ensure the quality of services delivered.
- Manage budgets related to your scope.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of installations, document monitoring and proper execution of audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental requirements and coordinate necessary actions to maintain site conformity.
IT
- Supervise first-level IT support activities on site in collaboration with the relevant teams.
- Coordinate local IT support activities in connection with Group IT teams.
- Participate in defining needs and implementing technological developments.
Occupational Health, Safety and Security (OHS) and Security
- Act as the site OHS referent.
- Implement and maintain the OHS management system.
- Conduct risk analyses, lead accident investigations and ensure follow-up of corrective measures.
- Prepare SUVA and authority inspections.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of installations and practices.
- Promote a strong safety culture among all employees.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety requirements, coordinate regulatory inspections and maintain operational fire protection systems.
Project Management
- Manage infrastructure, construction, renovation and building improvement projects.
- Coordinate various internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with costs, deadlines and quality standards.
- Be proactive in continuous improvement of infrastructure and services.
- Participate in defining and maintaining business continuity and risk management plans for the site.
Qualifications
- Higher education (Engineer, Master or equivalent) in a technical, industrial or infrastructure-related field.
- Minimum 10 years proven experience in an industrial environment, including significant responsibility in occupational health and safety (OHS), risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience managing services for industrial sites or highly cross-functional support functions, covering all or part of the following areas: infrastructure, general services, OHS, security or facility management.
- Successful experience in overall responsibility for one or more industrial sites, coordinating multiple support functions and managing networks of internal and external experts.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams as well as supporting and developing employees.
- Strong ability to operate in complex and cross-functional environments, coordinate diverse trades and unite stakeholders around common goals.
- Solid experience in managing cross-functional projects, budgeting and change management within demanding environments.
- Good understanding of issues related to business continuity, security and operation of an industrial site.
- Unifying leadership, global vision and ability to take a step back to arbitrate multiple issues and sustainably support site performance.
