Road Maintenance Worker Samedan
Department of Civil Engineering | 80-100% | District 3 Samedan
The Department of Civil Engineering is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and operation of the cantonal roads as well as water engineering and slow traffic in Graubünden. We also take care of the operational maintenance of the national roads within the canton. The canton’s road infrastructure includes over 1,450 engineering structures, including bridges at dizzying heights of up to 90 meters and tunnels up to 3 kilometers long. The challenges posed by the nature of our mountain canton in summer and winter make our work demanding and varied. As a Friendly Work Space certified office, the health and satisfaction of our approximately 480 employees are particularly important to us. Your area of responsibility
- Performing road maintenance work in a small maintenance team
- Summer and winter service
- Cleanup and repair work after accidents or natural events
- Inspection of road conditions and road facilities
- On-call duty (summer and winter)
What we expect from you
- Completed vocational training in the construction trade
- Manual dexterity
- Physical resilience
- Enjoyment of teamwork
- Driver’s license category C or willingness to obtain it
- General working language is German; knowledge of Italian and Romansh is an advantage
