Head of the Animal Welfare Competence Centre

In this responsible role, you lead the Competence Centre professionally, personally, and organisationally. Together with your team of around 35 employees, you develop foundations, positions, and programmes further and combine scientific findings, practical experience, and regulatory requirements into viable solutions. You manage demanding projects, actively shape structures and processes, and represent the STS towards authorities, politics, science, media, and other stakeholders. As a member of the executive board, you work closely with the various specialist departments and contribute your expertise to the further development of the organisation.

For this versatile leadership role, you have a master’s degree in veterinary medicine, biology, zoology, agricultural sciences, or a comparable field. You bring several years of leadership and professional experience in a demanding role and possess sound knowledge of Swiss animal welfare as well as the relevant legal frameworks. You combine your strategic and conceptual skills with high professional credibility, decisiveness, and a strong sense of responsibility. You communicate convincingly at all levels, promote collaboration among different stakeholders, and identify with the goals and values of Swiss Animal Protection STS.
