Social Deacon (80%) fixed-term until December 2026
Mosaic Church is an urban community of the Evangelical Reformed Church Community of Zurich with a clear inclusive and queer-sensitive profile. It sees itself as a home for people with diverse lifestyles, especially young adults who want to live the Christian faith communally and contemporarily.
For the further development of Mosaic Church, we are looking by arrangement for a creative, reflective, and community-oriented personality as
Your tasks
- Low-threshold social support, counselling, and conversations, especially with queer people
- Development and implementation of diaconal offerings, group and educational formats for young adults
- Recruitment, support, and training of volunteers as well as building sustainable networks
- Participation in church services, devotions, and other formats
- Active involvement in the social media area (content planning, community management, moderation, reporting)
- Conceptual further development of diaconal and volunteer work
- Documentation, reporting, and participation in team meetings and supervision
Your profile
- Completed training in social diaconia or in socio-cultural animation, social work (FH) or community animation (HF)
- Experience in social work, counselling, or community work, ideally in a church context
- Personal anchoring in the Christian faith and openness to different theological approaches
- High sensitivity to diverse lifestyles
- Enjoyment of relationship work, group processes, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Affinity for digital formats and social media
- Very good German and good English skills
