About the job
The Museum of Design Zurich is the leading Swiss museum for design and visual communication. Its collection unites over half a million objects from graphic and design history and is of international significance. As part of the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK, the museum is engaged in research and teaching and regularly realises its own exhibitions and publications. At its three locations in Zurich – on Ausstellungsstrasse, at the Toni-Areal university campus, and in the Le Corbusier Pavilion – as well as through travelling exhibitions and in the digital space, the museum reaches a broad, international audience.
To support our audience service team, we are looking for a
Audience Service Staff, 30–40%
Your tasks
In this role, you are responsible for looking after our guests and supervising the exhibitions. As the first point of contact, you inform visitors about the institution and the current exhibitions and, if necessary, convey selected exhibition content. You also welcome groups and conduct short introductions. You monitor and check the exhibits and ensure supervision in the exhibition rooms. Your duties also include the technical operation of audiovisual equipment and interactive media. With your service-oriented, attentive, and responsible manner, you contribute significantly to a positive visitor experience and ensure compliance with the house rules.
Your profile
We are looking for a friendly, open, and communicative personality with social responsibility who enjoys working in a team, is reliable and independent. A strong interest in the exhibition content is assumed. You are extremely service-oriented and enjoy interacting with people.
Experience in a mediating role as well as a neat and professional appearance complete your profile. Foreign language skills and experience in a host role are advantageous.
A high degree of flexibility, including weekends and public holidays, is a requirement for this position. The work mainly involves half-day shifts. The employment is initially limited to one year, with the option of extension, and is paid hourly.
