Areas of activity
- Responsibility for proactive, critical, risk-oriented, and real-time supervision of a portfolio of banks (either medium or small size), based on all the information available to you (including audit reports, information from FINMA's rating system, and specific investigations)
- Main internal and external contact person for the supervised banks
- Critical evaluation of risk analyses and development or approval of audit strategies proposed by audit firms responsible for prudential audits
- Assessment of the risk situation of the supervised entity, analysis of underlying causes and developments, and implementation of measures to restore legal order
- Relationship management with boards of directors, general management, and key function heads at supervised entities as well as with representatives of foreign supervisory authorities.
- Close collaboration with other internal departments within FINMA (cross-functional roles, other divisions) and participation in on-site inspections.
- Degree from a university of applied sciences in economics or higher education in banking or continuing education to become a certified public accountant
- Several years of experience (minimum five) in banking or with an audit firm, e.g., as a risk officer, credit officer, internal auditor, or certified public accountant. In-depth knowledge of banking law and financial market law, very good knowledge of markets and products (e.g., asset management, credit sector)
- Thanks to your experience, you use methodical approaches and have excellent analytical skills, enabling you to quickly detect and solve complex problems
- Excellent communication skills (convincing interlocutor at all hierarchical levels)
- Assertiveness and a high degree of flexibility
- Native French or Italian speaker (C2) with very good knowledge of the other language and good knowledge of German (B2).
