About the job

Welcome to the Zweckverband Soziales Netz Bezirk Horgen (SNH) based in Horgen. The Lernstube Wädenswil is a free educational offer for adults. It supports people in acquiring basic skills in reading, writing, arithmetic, and digital applications and promotes social and professional participation.

For the establishment of our new writing service, we are looking for a volunteer employee to start immediately or by arrangement.

In this role, you support people with written and administrative everyday concerns. You help with understanding and completing forms, writing letters and emails, as well as reading and understanding official correspondence. In doing so, you promote the independence of the participants and make an important contribution to social inclusion and equal opportunities.

Your tasks include supporting participants with simple written matters and contributing to the development and further advancement of the writing service. You will work closely with the Lernstube management. The activity is carried out according to the quality and data protection guidelines of SNH. The shifts take place on Mondays from 14:00 to 17:00 and/or Fridays from 15:00 to 18:00.

Your main tasks

• Support in understanding and completing forms
• Support in writing letters and emails
• Assistance in reading and understanding official and insurance letters
• Support with simple digital applications and online forms
• Promotion of participants’ independence
• Participation in the development and further advancement of the writing service
• Close collaboration with the Lernstube management

You bring

• Very good German language skills, spoken and written
• Enjoyment in contact with people of different backgrounds and life situations
• High degree of reliability, independence, and sense of responsibility
• Patience, empathy, and openness
• Interest in education, integration, and social engagement
• Experience in administration, counselling, education, or office work is an advantage
