Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defence of the interests of the child.
Serving the families of the canton, it operates through four main areas of action: child welfare , emergency reception , family support and preparation for autonomy .
To fulfil its mission, the institution manages 47 facilities across the Canton of Geneva and has 500 places for minors and young adults, offering outpatient educational services at home. The FOJ is composed of 670 employees.
To successfully carry out its mission, the FOJ is looking for Odyssey , an emergency home for young children from birth to 5 years old, a childcare educator or nurse.
Job Description
- Manage various moments of daily life in the residential setting
- Support and promote parental and family skills
- Ensure follow-up of an educational reference
- Actively participate in network and family meetings
- Establish and maintain meaningful individual relationships with children
- Promote a positive dynamic within a multidisciplinary team
- Organise and lead playful and educational activities for and with the children
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the institution's services
- Participate and engage in team meetings: conferences, supervisions, reflection days
- Collaborate closely with placement services and other partners in the family and professional network.
Job Specificity
- Irregular working hours.
Work rate: 80%
Contract type: Permanent contract
Start date: 1st September 2026 or to be agreed
Grade: 13 or 15 according to the salary scale of the State of Geneva

Qualifications
- Bachelor in social work (HETS), Diploma of social educator ES or university Bachelor in a related field (in the latter case, one year of full-time professional practice in residential care or IGE is required)
- Foreign diplomas: formal recognition by SEFRI required (final decision)
- CAS Trainer Practitioner (PF), an asset
- Proven experience in supporting children aged 0 to 5 years
- Strong knowledge of young child development and specific needs
- Good knowledge of the Geneva social and medico-social network
- Initiative, autonomy and sense of responsibility
- Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to various situations, contexts and audiences
- Good writing skills in French.

Must be Swiss nationality or hold a valid work permit.
