The EOC, the multi-site hospital of Ticino, is present with its institutes throughout the entire cantonal territory for a total of 1,000 beds. The organization effectively combines a local approach with an overall vision, guaranteeing the population a comprehensive and local hospital offer, regardless of where the services are requested.
Thanks to the commitment and expertise of over 6,500 collaborators and their attention to human relations, the EOC ensures quality healthcare by caring for over 41,000 inpatients annually and providing over 600,000 outpatient consultations.
To complete our Quality and Risk Service team at the General Management, we are looking for a
Risk Management Coordinator (50%)
Profile:
Within the Quality and Risk Service, the role coordinates the corporate risk management process, ensuring a consistent methodological approach and supporting Risk Owners in their activities.
It shares tools and methodologies with the rest of the service, contributing to the spread of a culture oriented towards safety, prevention, and continuous improvement.
Position in the organization:
The role reports to the Head of the EOC Quality and Risk Service, interacts with General Management, Health Management, Operational Areas (which include the various areas of General Management as well as EOC hospitals), Cross-functional Services, and Units involved in risk management.
It works in close connection with Risk Owners, ensuring periodic discussions and a homogeneous methodological application.
Main responsibilities:
- Oversee the definition and updating of the EOC risk plan.
- Monitor the corporate and external context to regularly update the EOC risk mapping.
- Maintain and update the corporate risk management methodology, proposing improvements consistent with organizational needs and regulatory developments.
- Support Risk Owners by ensuring a uniform application of the process of identification, analysis, evaluation, and treatment of risks.
- Provide methodological support to Risk Owners in analysis activities and in defining mitigation measures, monitoring their effectiveness over time.
- Organize and conduct periodic meetings dedicated to risk management, facilitating information exchange.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit for the management of interdependent risks or those arising from audit activities.
- Ensure the production of reporting intended for General Management, including the Annual Risk Report and summaries of mitigation project progress.
- Contribute to the development and updating of the Business Continuity Plan and support the integration of ESG sustainability principles into risk management practices.
- Assume specific tasks assigned by General Management, particularly strategic insights requiring cross-sectional analyses among different Areas.
Required qualifications:
- Academic training in economics, clinical, management, or related fields (Master of Science / Master of Arts)
- Additional training in risk management and/or several years of experience in risk management
- Specialist knowledge in risk management and process organization
- Excellent knowledge of risk analysis methodologies and tools
- Ability in statistical analysis applied to risk assessment
- Knowledge of the cantonal and national healthcare context
- Good knowledge of national languages and English
- Strong analytical and complexity management skills
- Mediation and negotiation skills
- Organizational skills, work structuring, and orientation towards continuous improvement
- Effective communication at different organizational levels
- Identification with EOC values
The team
The person will join the Quality and Risk Service, a multidisciplinary team that collaborates daily with clinical, administrative, and technical areas. The service is composed of professionals with complementary skills in quality, patient safety, process improvement, and data analysis.
