For our client, an established and independent company in the insurance sector based in Zurich, we are seeking an experienced individual (m/f/d) on an exclusive mandate who is ready to take on professional responsibility and actively shape the finance department. Whether you are currently working in-house or looking to move from auditing into accounting: this newly created position offers a varied role with short decision-making paths, direct collaboration with the CFO, and genuine scope for creativity.

Senior Accountant / Financial Reporting (80–100%)

Your responsibilities:

• Responsibility for financial accounting including subsidiary ledgers
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Ensuring accounting in accordance with Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) and Swiss GAAP FER
• Preparation and further development of financial and regulatory reporting
• Supporting the CFO with budgeting, forecasts and analyses
• Optimising and further developing closing and financial processes
• Participation in digitalisation and automation projects

Your profile:

• Solid experience in accounting, financial reporting or auditing
• Further education in finance and accounting, auditing or comparable qualification
• Good knowledge of accounting according to OR; Swiss GAAP FER is an advantage
• Experience in insurance, financial services or another regulated environment is a plus
• Confidence in closing processes and enthusiasm for a varied range of tasks
• Analytical, structured and independent working style
• Good ERP and Excel skills
