The EOC, the multi-site hospital of Ticino, is present with its institutes throughout the entire cantonal territory for a total of 1,000 beds. The organization allows for an effective combination of local approach and overall vision, ensuring the population a global and proximity hospital offer, regardless of where the services are requested.
Thanks to the commitment and competence of over 6,500 collaborators and their attention to human relationships, the EOC ensures quality healthcare by taking care of over 41,000 inpatients per year and providing over 600,000 outpatient consultations.
The Cantonal Institute of Pathology (ICP) located in Locarno provides the pathological anatomy service for the entire Cantonal Hospital Entity as well as for private clinics and medical studies. Every year, more than 70,000 analyses concerning about 50,000 patients residing in the cantonal territory are performed. The competencies span all fields of pathology and cytology with the possibility of utilizing a modern molecular pathology service and support from digital pathology. The ICP is an institute oriented towards university teaching and the promotion of biomedical research.

The institute is recognized as Clinic A by the Swiss Institute for Medical Education (ISFM) and offers an ideal environment for assistant doctors interested in an FMH specialty title in pathology and for doctors oriented towards other specialties, but still interested in a professional experience in pathological anatomy.
Necessary requirements:
- degree/diploma in medicine and related registration with MedReg before starting work
- for doctors with foreign qualifications, recognition by the Federal Commission for Medical Professions MEBEKO and registration with MedReg is mandatory, including language skills in one or more official Swiss languages (German, French, Italian)
- proven knowledge of the Italian language (level B2)
- proven knowledge of a second national language, French or German and/or English, level B2
- strong relational, communicative, and teamwork skills
- clinical experience or in pathology are preferred criteria.
Start date: to be agreed upon.
