About the job
The school buildings of the Winterthur-City Secondary School (Heiligberg and St. Georgen) are centrally located and close to the train station and the old town. Around 400 pupils are taught and supported in our school unit by a versatile overall faculty, consisting of class and subject teachers, special needs educators, social pedagogues, as well as school assistants. The close interdisciplinary collaboration of all specialist areas forms the fundamental core of our school.
To strengthen our team, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for an open, friendly and approachable personality as a school assistant (70%). You will support our young people in everyday school life and actively help to accompany them with the secondary school curriculum.
Your tasks
- Support of class teachers
- Care of children with special needs under the guidance of special needs educators/teachers
- Support of pupils in the learning and support centre, especially also with the secondary school curriculum
- Promotion of language development (possibly English or French)
- Contributions to an open, friendly and approachable school climate
Your profile
- Ideally experience as a school assistant or in a similar environment
- Experience in child/youth education and/or school support
- Flexibility in thinking and acting, resilience
- High social competence, inclusive thinking and empathy
- Open, friendly and approachable personality
- Ability to assist with the secondary school curriculum
- Interest and patience for working with young people with special needs
- Good knowledge of German, possibly English or French skills
