About the job
The Building Construction Department is responsible for all cantonal buildings and facilities, for the coordination of building applications, and for spatial planning issues. The development, provision, maintenance, and management of real estate is centrally handled by the Building Construction Department as a centre of expertise.
We are looking for a committed individual as
Project Manager Building Construction and Real Estate 50–100 %
from 1 October 2026 or by arrangement, based in Glarus. Job sharing is possible.
Tasks
- Representing the interests of the canton as owner and public client
- Active participation in the development and preservation of value of a diverse real estate portfolio
- Management and control of construction, renovation, and maintenance projects throughout the entire lifecycle of cantonal properties – from strategic planning to long-term value preservation
- Leadership and coordination of external planning and project teams as well as collaboration with authorities, users, and other stakeholders
- Independent planning and implementation of smaller construction and maintenance projects
- Responsibility for costs, deadlines, and quality including risk management and ensuring economical use of resources
Requirements
- Completed degree in architecture or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience in managing and controlling building construction projects
- Sound knowledge of construction and real estate management
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style with strong decision-making and implementation skills
- Excellent communication, advisory, and negotiation skills as well as assertiveness
- Fluent oral and written expression
- Flexibility and enjoyment of varied work
