About the job
The City of Langenthal forms the centre of the Bernese Oberaargau with a catchment area of around 80,000 people and, with approximately 16,400 inhabitants, is the eighth largest municipality in the canton of Bern. The city is constantly developing as an economic, social and cultural centre. In our City Building Office we are looking for a personality for the Environment and Energy Department, which is responsible for the areas of environment, energy, waste disposal, climate and sustainability of the city of Langenthal, from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement as Project Manager Environment and Energy (100%) This is your job
- Structuring and leading projects in the areas of energy, environment, waste disposal, climate and sustainability
- Managing and coordinating the "Energiestadt Langenthal" label
- Administrative and technical tasks in the areas of energy, environment and sustainable development
- Preparation and processing of political matters such as handling parliamentary motions or drafting reports and proposals
- Implementing approved information and motivation campaigns for energy-conscious and environmentally responsible behaviour
- Representing the City Building Office in commissions, working groups, municipal associations, etc.

- Several years of solid professional experience in the areas of energy and/or environment

- Interest in political processes as well as the ability to prepare complex technical content in an understandable and target group-appropriate manner
- Strong service and solution orientation, sense of responsibility and assertiveness
- High team and communication skills, empathy, flexibility and initiative
