We are looking for a highly skilled and analytical personality as an Abacus Finance and Power BI Specialist (m/f/d) to strengthen our team at LGT Financial Services AG. In this key role, you will support our financial reporting and analysis with a special focus on the use of Abacus finance/controlling solutions as well as the development of meaningful Power BI dashboards.
Abacus system management: Administration, maintenance, and optimization of the Abacus system for regulatory reporting while ensuring data quality and compliance with relevant financial regulations (e.g., Basel, CRR).
Data extraction and transformation: Extraction, transformation, and loading of financial data from various source systems into Abacus and other reporting platforms.
Report creation and validation: Preparation of statutory and internal financial reports using Abacus and Microsoft Power BI, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery. Conducting comprehensive data validations and reconciliations.
Power BI dashboard development: Design, development, and maintenance of interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize key financial performance indicators, trends, and regulatory data.
Data analysis and insights: Conducting detailed financial data analyses, identifying trends and anomalies, and deriving meaningful recommendations to support decision-making processes.
Process optimization: Proactive identification and implementation of improvements in data management, reporting processes, and system functionalities related to Abacus and Power BI.
Collaboration with stakeholders: Close cooperation with finance, risk, IT, and other relevant departments to understand reporting requirements and provide efficient solutions.
Documentation: Creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation on Abacus configurations, Power BI reports, data models, and reporting processes.
User support and training: Support and training of end users in the use of Abacus and Power BI functionalities.
Education
Completed university degree in finance, accounting, business information systems, or a comparable quantitatively oriented course of study.
A master's degree is an advantage.
Professional experience
At least 3–5 years of professional experience handling financial data, reporting, and analysis in the financial services industry.
Proven practical experience with Abacus is mandatory.
Solid experience in developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, including data modeling (DAX), report creation, and application of best practices in data visualization.
Experience with SQL for data extraction and processing.
Technical skills
Demonstrated expertise in using Abacus reporting software.
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Power BI (Power Query, DAX, data modeling).
Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
Knowledge of other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) is an advantage.
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables).
Financial knowledge
Very good understanding of financial products, accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP), and financial reporting standards.
Knowledge of banking regulations (e.g., Basel III, CRR) is highly desirable.
Soft skills
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability with a high level of quality and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills as well as the ability to explain complex data and technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team in a dynamic environment.
Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented working style with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
Fluent English skills; very good German skills are a great advantage.
