About the job
A stands not only for AKB, but for all those who work at the attractive Amployer in the canton of Aargau in an open-minded and diverse Atmosphere. Although numbers are important to us, you are not just a personnel number here. We offer you an interesting role with appreciation for your personality.
Within AKB and during the application process, we maintain a respectful and appreciative culture of addressing each other informally. Dare to speak to us on a first-name basis.
What to expect
For the establishment of our new Data & AI department, we are looking for an AI Engineer. You will develop AI applications integrated into our business processes – from the credit process to pension provision and customer advice – and further expand our central AI services. You will help shape from the start how we use Artificial Intelligence at AKB:
- Developing requirements together with the specialist departments, coordinating test cases, and supporting the introduction as a contact person including close collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Developing AI applications and agents – from feasibility studies through prototypes to productive operation.
- Building and further developing our AI services for retrieval, orchestration, and document processing in the environment of Azure AI Services, vector databases, LLM frameworks, and guardrails.
- Establishing and applying evaluation procedures: test sets, automated quality measurement, and detection of quality drops during model changes.
- Providing and operating our solutions according to modern DevOps principles; predictive models and data-intensive processing on our Databricks platform.
- Technical evaluation of vendor solutions.
What you bring
- You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (FH or university) and ideally have several years of professional experience in a comparable role.
- You are proficient in Python development and have already deployed LLM applications productively – you are familiar with RAG architectures and prompt engineering. Knowledge of agent frameworks is a plus.
- You bring experience in statistics and classical machine learning methods.
- You understand why AI systems give incorrect answers and how to systematically measure and improve answer quality.
- You consider interfaces and data flows from the outset and work closely with the responsible teams.
- You enjoy working with people as much as with models and see requirements clarification and implementation support as part of engineering.
- Experience with cloud environments (ideally Azure), container technologies, and CI/CD completes your profile.
- Very good German language skills in speaking and writing as well as good English skills complete your profile.
- Experience in the banking or insurance sector is an advantage.
