Mediothecary 50 - 75%The Literargymnasium Rämibühl is a long-term grammar school offering classical and modern language Matura profiles as well as the PPP profile (Philosophy/Education/Psychology). Additionally, the bilingual Matura with the dual qualification International Baccalaureate IB / Matura can be obtained. The Literargymnasium is centrally located near the Zurich universities amidst the green Rämibühl Park.
From 1 September 2026 or by arrangement, a position as Mediothecary with special tasks (mbA) 50-75% is to be filled.
In this versatile role, you combine classic mediothecary work with individual support for pupils and teachers. You create an attractive place for learning and meeting, promote information and media literacy, and support young people in successfully achieving their learning and work goals.
Your tasks
- Supervision and further development of the mediothecary as a place for learning, work and encounters
- Advice on research, information and media questions
- Media selection, procurement, cataloguing and stock maintenance
- Organisation of lending and all administrative processes
- Introduction of pupils to digital offerings and research tools
- Support in building learning and working skills
- Promotion of digital competencies (especially regarding AI applications)
- Planning and conducting events and workshops on school-related as well as leisure topics
- Close cooperation with teachers, school management and external specialists
Your profile
- Training in information and documentation, library science, education or a comparable qualification
- Professional experience in a library, mediothecary or educational institution is an advantage
- Further training or experience in coaching and/or learning support
- Enjoyment in working with young people and teachers
- Strong communication, advisory and social skills
- High affinity for digital media and information systems (e.g. winMedio)
- Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style
- Open, creative personality with enthusiasm for further developing the mediothecary as a modern place for learning, work and encounters

In addition, you benefit from longer consecutive periods of time off, as the mediothecary is closed during school holidays; the workload is correspondingly distributed over the school weeks. The work is usually from Monday to Friday. Working hours are preferably in the morning; some flexibility for occasional work outside these times is desirable.
