About the job
The Winterthur City Parliament is seeking a new ombudsperson due to the resignation of the previous officeholder. An interesting and responsible role awaits you, with the workplace located in the heart of Winterthur's old town. The ombudsperson is elected by the City Parliament for a term of four years each time. The position can be taken up on 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.Your Tasks
- Independent mediation in conflicts between residents and the city administration
- Review, based on complaints, suggestions, or on own initiative, whether the city authorities and administration act according to law and fairness
Your Profile
- University degree in law (lic. iur./MLaw)
- Several years of professional experience in constitutional and administrative law
- Further training and practical experience in mediation/conciliation
- Good knowledge of the structure and functioning of a large administration
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Empathy, high integrity and diplomatic skill
- High initiative, assertiveness and resilience
- Enjoyment in contact with people from all social backgrounds
