Presentation
To complete its team, the Institute of Psychology of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences is looking for 2 student assistants at 30% for a research project in psychophysiology on the influence of breathing on emotional memory ("Breathing to Update" project, SSP Seed Money funding). The work involves preparing and conducting a pilot study in the laboratory and an online survey.

Contract duration: fixed-term contract, from 01.10.2026 to 31.12.2026 (non-renewable)
Work rate: 30%

Your Activities
Task description:
- Setup and acquisition of physiological measurements (capnography/CO₂, heart rate variability, arousal indices): installation, calibration, signal quality control
- Conducting experimental sessions according to a standardised and documented protocol
- Construction and testing of instruments (online questionnaire, laboratory protocol)
- Recruitment and management of participants
- Data entry, verification and storage, and creation of databases for analyses
Statistical analyses and scientific supervision are provided by the research team.

Your Profile
We wish to recruit, to complete our team, a person with the following profile:
- Enrolled at the University of Lausanne (Bachelor or Master) in psychology, neuroscience or a related field — essential condition for student assistant status
- Methodological rigour and organisational skills
- Ease with conducting laboratory experiments
- Interest in psychophysiological measurements (prior experience is an asset)
- Comfort with data entry and management
- Excellent command of French
