Medical-technical assistant at the bed central

The Transfers and Patient Devices Service (TDP) is looking for a medical-technical assistant for the bed central at a 60% workload (permanent contract). The starting date is scheduled for 1 November 2026 or to be agreed.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital Centre (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.

The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is tasked with ensuring that care, teaching and research units can fully focus on their core activities by providing and developing efficient operational logistics services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilisation, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).

The Transfers and Patient Devices Service (TDP) comprises three sectors: the bed and laundry central, patient transfers and regulation, and the sterilisation central. The service is attached to the CHUV Hospital Logistics. The bed central’s main mission is the management and distribution of beds, associated equipment and devices, as well as the cleaning, disinfection and inspection of beds, associated equipment and devices.

Mission

• You ensure the collection of laundry from the various care units as well as the transport and handling of biomedical equipment
• You distribute clean beds and biomedical equipment to care units according to orders placed by requesting services
• You keep traceability files up to date for bed maintenance, telephone orders for beds and biomedical equipment
• You ensure the reception, stripping and making up of beds according to the current process
• You carry out cleaning and disinfection of beds, bedding and other items
• You ensure the storage of beds in the so-called "clean" zone
• You check that there is sufficient laundry stock
• You maintain and clean workstations and equipment in compliance with hospital hygiene guidelines
• You verify the proper functioning of available equipment and report any problems observed.

Profile

• You have at least two years’ experience in the hospital or maintenance field or experience deemed useful for the role.
• You show a keen interest in the hospital sector
• You enjoy teamwork, are precise, meticulous, methodical, adaptable and have a strong sense of responsibility
• You have good knowledge of the French language, level B2 required
• You are proficient with common office software
• You are ready to work in a demanding, sometimes stressful environment (noise, repeated lifting, confined spaces, proximity to patients)
• You are willing to work variable hours, day and evening until 10pm, weekends and public holidays, and to be on call.
