Your Tasks
- You take ownership of complex detector systems in the field and in the lab, troubleshoot across layers, and are not afraid to dig into the challenging world of troubleshooting, legacy setups, or half-broken systems
- You actively contribute to improving how DECTRIS supports its customers
- You enjoy taking things apart, fixing what others can't, and turning unknown problems into working solutions
- Provide advanced technical support for DECTRIS detector systems (remote and on-site)
- Analyze, debug, and fix complex software and hardware issues
- Commission detector systems and provide integration support
- Perform diagnostics and repairs at DECTRIS and at customer sites
- Develop scripts, tools, and procedures to improve customer support
- Clearly communicate technical topics to non-experts and experts alike
- Collaborate closely with R&D, product engineering, applications, and sales
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%
- MSc in engineering, computer or natural sciences (PhD an advantage)
- 3+ years of industry experience
- Proven Linux proficiency
- Solid programming/scripting experience, mainly Python
- Ability to train customers by breaking down the complexity of our systems into understandable concepts
- Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with no fear of unfamiliar systems
- Comfortable working with tools, lab equipment, and real hardware
- Logical and analytical problem solver who can also improvise when needed
- Curious, fast learner who takes initiative and responsibility
- Reliable team player who can work independently when required
- Stress-resistant, flexible, and comfortable in customer environments of different cultures
- Fluent in English; German or Chinese is a plus
- Driving license (B)

Your Future Team
The DECTRIS Support & Commissioning team is the interface between our products and the customers at the synchrotron, in the laboratory and in industry. We analyze and solve problems in soft- and hardware, support our customers in the use of our high-end detectors, train users and partners in the use and integration of our detector systems, and bring customer feedback about existing products to the company. To achieve this, we work closely with our subsidiaries, product management, application scientists, development, production and sales on an interdisciplinary basis. With the combination of a broad technical and scientific understanding as well as customer-oriented thinking, we want our customers to get the best out of their DECTRIS products and services.
