The Office for the Enforcement of Sentences (AJV) Graubünden is a department of the Department of Justice, Security and Health of the Canton of Graubünden. The AJV is responsible for the enforcement of sentences and measures as well as the implementation of various types of detention. In Graubünden, the enforcement of sentences and measures is regulated as a unified subject area and holistic task, in which various professional groups work interdisciplinarily with offenders to prevent further delinquency.

The Correctional Facility (JVA) Cazis Tignez employs around 110 staff and has 150 detention places in closed custody. Of these, 100 are in normal custody, ten in the admission department, 28 in the special custody area and twelve in pre-trial detention.

We are looking for a Team Leader Security from 1 December 2026 or by arrangement.

Your area of responsibility

• Professional, personnel and organisational management of the assigned team
• Leadership, promotion and development of the seven subordinate employees as well as support in their tasks
• Assuming daily responsibility for the security area
• Ensuring smooth 24-hour operation of the JVA with regard to all security-relevant processes and facilities including the control centre
• Checks of persons, belongings, rooms, vehicles and premises
• Care, guidance and support of detained persons of various origins and cultural backgrounds
• Ensuring internal team instructions for employees and compliance with safety regulations
• Conducting training units related to security-relevant incidents
• External transports of detained persons
• Administrative tasks such as writing reports and documenting incidents
• Performing early, day, late, night, on-call and weekend duties

What we expect from you

• Completed training with a Federal VET Diploma (EFZ) or an equivalent qualification
• Training and further education in the security field or completed training as a specialist in the enforcement of sentences are advantageous
• Several years of leadership experience – ideally in the enforcement of sentences or a similar security-relevant area
• High social competence, resilience, assertiveness, flexibility and ability to set boundaries
• Enjoyment of teamwork and openness to interdisciplinary collaboration
• Very good IT user skills as well as oral and written expression in German (at least C1); additional knowledge of cantonal and foreign languages is an advantage
• Driving licence category B
• Willingness to complete training as a specialist in the enforcement of sentences if not already obtained
• A clean criminal record (no entries in the criminal and debt enforcement registers)
