The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. The Accelerator Feedbacks and Measurement Systems group develops and operates fast FPGA/SoC-based measurement and control systems at the various particle accelerators of PSI, using the latest multiprocessor system-on-chip (MPSoC) and radio frequency system-on-chip (RFSoC) technology. Your tasks
- Development of mixed-signal electronics, FPGA/MPSoC firmware, and real-time software for fast measurement and control systems at the PSI particle accelerators
- Development of high-level software applications and user interfaces for automated testing, calibration, and operation of the systems.
- Participation in the commissioning, operation, maintenance, and upgrades of existing and new systems
- Advanced measurements and performance studies of fast measurement and control systems at the PSI particle accelerators
Your profile
- You are an engineer or physicist (Master’s or PhD) with several years of experience in the development of fast mixed-signal electronics, FPGA firmware (VHDL/Verilog), and embedded software (in C/C++)
- Experience in RF technology, particle accelerator technology and theory, Python, as well as control systems (e.g. EPICS) is advantageous
- You look forward to working in an interdisciplinary technical/scientific team
