Historical Institute
Start of employment: 01.01.2026 or by agreement
The employment is limited to 12 months, an extension may be possible.
At the Historical Institute of the University of Bern, we research and teach history in its full thematic breadth and methodological diversity. The research deals with the history of Europe from antiquity to the present as well as with the historical past of non-European regions.

Tasks

Development of a doctoral project with a view to a possible submission of a research proposal

Requirements

Master's degree or an equivalent degree in history
Independent and reliable working style
Regular presence in Bern and participation in the institute's life
Enrollment at the University of Bern for the FS 2026
