Biomedical Analysis Technician at the Immunology and Allergy Service

As part of the development of its activities, the Immunology and Allergy Service of the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DMLP) is seeking a biomedical analysis technician at a workload of 80% to 100%, to join the Vaccinology - Cellular Immunology (VIC) unit. The starting date is scheduled for 1 September 2026.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.

The diagnostic laboratory of the Immunology and Allergy Service performs specialised analyses in the fields of viral hepatology, HIV, autoimmune diseases, gammopathies, allergology, transplantation, vaccinology as well as therapeutic monitoring of biological drugs.

You will join the Vaccinology - Cellular Immunology (VIC) unit, specialised in cellular immunology analyses, functional tests of the immune system and vaccinology activities.

Mission

• You participate in pre-analytical and post-analytical activities
• You perform biomedical analyses in accordance with laboratory procedures and the requirements of the ISO 15189 standard
• You contribute to the establishment of medical diagnoses and patient follow-up
• You participate in the development and optimisation of medico-technical methods
• You contribute to the smooth running of the laboratory as well as to maintaining the quality system
• You participate in the continuous improvement of the laboratory’s services.

Profile

• You hold a Swiss Red Cross recognised ES diploma as a biomedical analysis technician or an equivalent qualification
• You have a strong interest in cellular immunology and innovative analytical technologies
• Ideally, you have knowledge or experience in cell culture
• You have knowledge or experience in flow cytometry
• Knowledge of mass spectrometry is an asset
• You have a good command of scientific English
• You demonstrate rigour, autonomy, good organisational skills and enjoy teamwork
• You are dynamic, flexible and motivated by a cutting-edge medico-technical environment.
