WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As an IP Specialist/Patent Engineer (m/f/d), you will work in a team of sixteen employees in the central patent department of Rheinmetall at the Zurich location. From there, you will support products and projects group-wide.
Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting patent searches to accelerate development, to examine the patentability of products and technologies, and to clarify possible collisions with third-party patents
- Creating figures for patent applications, trademarks, and designs in collaboration with the specialist departments
- Supporting internal specialist departments in drafting invention disclosures and preparing intellectual property applications in cooperation with external patent attorneys
- Competition and technology monitoring with regard to potential intellectual property conflicts
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING
- University degree (FH/ETH) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, materials science, or physics
- Relevant professional experience in a patent department, patent attorney's office, or industry
- Knowledge of German, Swiss, and/or European patent law
- Experience with common research and database systems in the IP field
- Experience with relevant AI-based IP tools is an advantage
- High innovation capability and flexibility
- Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
