About the job
Back Office Team Leader (80–100 %)
Do you enjoy leading people, developing teams, and creating conditions that enable good performance? Then a leadership role with plenty of scope for creativity awaits you with us.
The IV Office of the Canton of Bern is undergoing change and is focusing on a modern corporate and leadership culture. The Service Centre is the service hub of the IV Office Bern and ensures that processes, services, and benefits are delivered efficiently, consistently, and with high quality.
The Back Office supports the specialist departments of the IV Office Canton Bern with a variety of administrative tasks and relieves them throughout the entire case processing procedure. In doing so, the team makes an important contribution to efficient and reliable workflows. As team leader, you will manage around 20 employees and bear overall responsibility for the team. Your focus will be on personnel management, staff development, as well as the organisation and control of the team. For professional leadership and further development, you will work closely with the specialist.
What you can achieve with us
- You lead and develop a team of around 20 employees and create an environment that promotes personal responsibility, collaboration, and good performance.
- You support your employees individually, recognise potential and areas for development, and assist them through targeted coaching and appropriate development measures.
- Together with the specialist, you ensure that professional guidelines, processes, and quality standards are understood and consistently implemented within the team.
- You keep an eye on the overall performance of the Back Office, identify the need for action, initiate appropriate measures in coordination with stakeholders, and promote a standardised way of working.
- You foster an open feedback culture, respectful interaction, and a willingness to continuously develop existing working methods.
- You maintain constructive collaboration with the departments supported by the Back Office and ensure clear expectations and reliable services.
- As a member of the Service Centre management team, you actively contribute to the further development of processes, services, and organisational structures. In doing so, you work closely with other team leaders and the Service Centre management and bring in your team’s perspective.
What skills are important to us
- You have a commercial basic education and ideally a higher professional qualification, for example as a certified leadership specialist with a federal diploma or as a certified business economist HF.
- You bring several years of experience in personnel management of a larger team.
- You lead clearly, appreciatively, and reliably, promote and empower your employees purposefully, and understand how to delegate responsibility sensibly.
- You are interested in the further development of organisations and processes and can win employees over to changes.
- You can absorb, classify, and translate different interests and needs into viable solutions together with internal partners.
- A high service orientation, initiative, as well as a structured and solution-oriented way of working are natural to you.
- You communicate confidently and appropriately for the audience. Very good German skills are required. Good French skills are an advantage.
