Job description:
To strengthen our team of therapists in the STROKE UNIT, we are looking for a motivated speech therapist to work with adult patients hospitalised in the acute phase. You will join a dynamic team of about 20 therapists at the Nyon site (speech therapists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists) working closely with medical and nursing teams.
In your role, you will mainly be responsible for:
- Conducting speech therapy assessments for adult patients presenting with language, speech and communication disorders.
- Participating in the screening and evaluation of dysphagia, as well as making recommendations regarding nutrition and swallowing safety.
- Ensuring early intervention and initiating speech therapy treatments in the acute phase.
- Collaborating closely with doctors, nurses and other hospital professionals.
- Participating in interdisciplinary meetings and contributing to the continuity of care pathways.
- Ensuring the traceability of your interventions in the electronic patient record.
- Participating in the training of nursing staff.
Required profile:
- Clinical experience with an adult population is essential, particularly in the areas of language, speech and swallowing.
- Applications from recent graduates are welcome, provided they have significant internship experience with adults.
- Interest in working in an acute hospital setting and early intervention.
- Interest in training in the neurological field.
- Ability to work independently while valuing interprofessional collaboration.
- Organisational skills, flexibility and excellent interpersonal skills.
Education level:
- Master’s degree in speech therapy or an equivalent diploma recognised by the Swiss Red Cross (required).
