Chemical Laboratory Technician 40%The Kantonsschule Rychenberg Winterthur is a senior secondary school with classical and modern language profiles and the PPP profile, a bilingual German / English Matura programme, as well as a specialised secondary school with the profiles Pedagogy and Communication and Information. With around 1250 students and 170 teachers, we are one of the large schools in the canton of Zurich.
We are looking for a committed individual as a Chemical Laboratory Technician 40% starting at the beginning of the school year (17 August 2026) or by arrangement.
Your tasks
Supervision of the chemistry collection and preparation of lessons and practicals, including in particular:
- Setting up and dismantling experiments for lessons and practicals
- Procuring materials including inventory management as well as proper storage and disposal of chemicals
- Planning and organisation related to the teaching operation
- Development and optimisation of new demonstration and practical experiments
- Assistance with the execution of complex practicals and teaching units
- Procurement, inspection and maintenance of equipment
- Participation in the accounting of the Chemistry department
The work is carried out in close cooperation with another laboratory technician and the teachers of the Chemistry department.
Your profile
You have completed training as a laboratory technician EFZ specialising in chemistry or similar (pharmaceutical assistant, druggist). We are looking for a person who brings a high degree of independence, commitment, reliability, diligence and manual skills and who enjoys working with children and young people. Furthermore, you are willing to adapt your working hours to the school’s needs, i.e. to work during lesson times spread over three working days per week amounting to approximately 50%.
