Celerion is seeking a Scientist to join our Molecular and Cell Biology team. The successful candidate will have strong problem-solving skills as well as scientific expertise and knowledge in molecular and cell biology techniques such as cell-based assays, flow cytometry and PCR.
This full-time scientific role is located at our Lincoln, NE facility.
Role: As a Scientist, you will provide scientific expertise to develop new bioanalytical methods in the area of cellular and molecular biology analysis for the Molecular and Cell Biology group at Celerion. A key component of the role is to provide innovation and change management required to remain on the cutting edge of the bioanalytical industry in the cellular and molecular biology techniques (ex. flow cytometry, ELIspot, qPCR, etc).

- Undertake original and innovative research and techniques that include developing and qualifying assays, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies in molecular and cell biology (such as flow cytometry, ELIspot, qPCR, etc).
- Support the global director in achieving business objectives for the method development team. It includes project management, innovation, change management, new technology evaluation, and customer loyalty
- Develop methods by applying and interpreting scientific theories, concepts, techniques, and regulatory requirements in bioanalytical studies
- Provide technical/scientific guidance and leadership to study teams, as well as other areas of the company, to ensure project completion in a timely manner
- Author scientific papers that are published in peer-reviewed journals
- Participate and provide technical expertise during client visits
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry or Biology required. An advanced degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of related industry experience, CRO experience is preferred.
- The candidate must have proven proficiency in cellular and molecular biology techniques, particularly related to flow cytometry and cell-based assays, and be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prior experience working in a regulated GLP or GCP-compliant environment is preferred.
- Experience in utilizing statistical tools, LIMS software (WATSON, eNotebook) and flow cytometry analysis (e.g. FloJo) is preferred.
- Senior Scientist requires a proven history of method development for cell and molecular biology assay and strong decision-making capabilities.
- The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and technical writing skills and be capable of presenting to an audience of researchers from a variety of disciplines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with staff in other locations effectively and independently.
- Attention to timelines and impact on business outcomes.
