The Biosafety Section deals with biological risks in closed and open systems, with invasive, non-native organisms, so-called invasive neobiota, also playing a role. To support this, the Biosafety Section team is looking for an intern from early September 2026 for 6 months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months.

Your tasks
During your internship, you will support the Biosafety Section in the field of neobiota (www.zh.ch/neobiota). You will collaborate with other cantonal authorities, federal offices, municipalities, and private offices. In daily business, you will be involved in various cantonal and national projects and independently handle assignments. The position is particularly suitable for career starters or those re-entering the profession.
Your profile
- Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, geography, environmental sciences, environmental engineering, agronomy, or similar fields
- You have a confident command of the German language, both spoken and written
