HME AG is an agile, high-tech Swiss special machine manufacturer, renowned worldwide for its high-tech indexing machines and complex special units. To sustainably strengthen the management team, we are seeking a results-driven individual. In this core role, you will shape the future of the company at the crucial interface between engineering and production.
Your focus: Holistic leadership & sustainable optimisation
As COO, you will lead the entire operational business from order placement to delivery. You form the strong link between sales, design, and production. In addition to ensuring uncompromising adherence to deadlines and cost budgets for complex customer projects, you will continuously develop processes, structures, and the team to sustainably increase the efficiency and innovative strength of HME AG.
Your areas of responsibility (End-to-End Operations)
- Project management: Close monitoring of all ongoing customer projects, proactive resource planning, and optimisation of delivery reliability.
- Mechanical design: Technical and personnel leadership of the mechanical engineering team, moderation of design reviews, and further development of design standards.
- Electrical engineering & automation: Leadership of the head of electrical engineering (hardware design with EPLAN, software development/PLC, procurement of electronic components, and final commissioning).
- Production, assembly & production planning: Leadership of the head of production including work preparation, mechanical manufacturing, as well as pre- and final assembly to continuously reduce throughput times.
- Supply chain & purchasing: Strategic assurance of material availability for critical purchased components as well as management and qualification of external manufacturing partners (extended workbenches).
- Service / after-sales: Strategic expansion of customer service, handling of spare parts and revision orders, as well as sustainable complaint management.
Your profile (search profile)
- Education: Completed studies in mechanical engineering, ideally complemented by a solid technical basic education (e.g. polymechanic, designer, automation technician) and business management training.
- Mechatronic DNA: Proven, long-standing leadership experience in mechanical design in special machine construction. You read and critically assess CAD drawings (e.g. SolidWorks) effortlessly and have a deep understanding of automation and electrical engineering.
- Industry experience: Extensive practical experience in special machine construction, plant engineering, or the machine tool industry (single-piece production and small series with high engineering density).
- Doer mentality with foresight: You act pragmatically when facing operational hurdles but always keep the long-term process stability and strategic goals of the company in mind.
- Modern leadership skills: Assertive, integrative, and empathetic in dealing with highly qualified developers and experienced assemblers. You promote an open error culture and feel at home in the dynamics of a Swiss SME.
