Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced individual as Project Manager Civil Engineering for demanding projects in structural building construction. You will be responsible for structural concepts and structural planning from the early project phase to completion and develop economical solutions in concrete, steel and timber construction. In addition to technical project work, you will take on leadership of project teams, cost and schedule management as well as technical supervision of construction execution. The role combines solid engineering knowledge with comprehensive project, leadership and execution responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Development and responsibility for structural concepts and structural solutions from design to realisation
Planning, calculation and dimensioning of demanding structures in reinforced concrete, steel and timber
Management and coordination of projects in structural building construction across the relevant SIA phases
Preparation and review of structural calculations, structural verifications and technical documentation
Technical leadership and guidance of civil engineers and draftsmen within the project teams
Preparation of tenders and specifications as well as technical support during tendering and awarding
Responsibility for cost, schedule and quality management within the projects managed
Execution of technical site management and construction supervision for structurally demanding construction projects
Coordination of interfaces with architects, specialist planners, authorities and contractors
Review of execution, workshop and reinforcement plans as well as handling technical contractor inquiries
Ensuring compliance with relevant SIA standards and Swiss structural standards
Conducting technical risk management and developing structural solutions for complex project requirements
Qualifications:
Completed studies as Civil Engineer ETH or FH with specialisation or solid knowledge in structural engineering
Several years of professional experience in structural planning and structural building construction; knowledge in civil engineering is an advantage
Experience in project management and technical leadership of project teams
Solid knowledge in the dimensioning of concrete, steel and timber structures as well as relevant SIA standards
Experience in collaboration with architecture, specialist planning, authorities and companies in the Swiss construction industry
Confident use of MS Office; knowledge of AxisVM and Messerli construction administration is an advantage
Very good German language skills in spoken and written form
