To strengthen our solid operations in mono-plant solid operations at the Visp site, we are looking for a dedicated and responsible individual as Deputy Shift Supervisor in Chemical Production.
In this role, you make a significant contribution to a safe, efficient, and sustainable production operation. You work closely with your team, promote a strong safety culture, and actively drive continuous improvements.
Your main tasks and responsibilities
Ensuring smooth shift operations including organising all arising work orders and structured shift handovers
Leading and scheduling the team regarding priorities, tasks, breaks, and absences
Responsibility for onboarding and continuous development of employees
Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations in the areas of safety, environmental protection, and quality in the assigned work area
Actively promoting a strong safety culture and exemplifying best practices
Coordinating and communicating with external operational bodies in case of incidents (e.g., porter, on-call service, fire brigade)
Continuously questioning existing processes within the team as well as developing and implementing improvement proposals
Qualifications & Experience
Strong safety awareness and high standards for a lived safety culture
Residence in Upper Valais or willingness to relocate (to ensure availability in case of disruptions)
Experience as a plant specialist in chemical production or comparable operations as well as in handling process control systems
Completed CPT or CPP apprenticeship (formerly certified operator) or willingness to complete it
Openness to new technologies and motivation for continuous further training
Committed, flexible, and reliable personality with strong team spirit
Willingness to work shifts (including night and weekend work)
