Lecturer for Major Jazz Saxophone and Saxophone Subject Didactics (5-25%)

Your tasks:
- You teach the major subject saxophone in the Bachelor and Master programmes
- You supervise students in all stages of their studies and provide both individual and group lessons
- You contribute your skills across disciplines and collaborate with the lecturers at the institute on the further development of teaching
- Preparation and support of prospective music teachers for their future teaching activities at music schools, general education schools, and other music education contexts
- Conveying and reflecting on contemporary didactic, methodological, and pedagogical concepts of saxophone teaching
- Supervision of teaching internships, observations, and practical reflections
- Participation in the further development of study programmes and teaching concepts in the field of instrumental pedagogy
- Planning, implementation, and further development of saxophone subject didactics within teacher education
Your profile:
- You are an internationally recognised and well-networked artistic personality with excellent didactic skills and experience in higher education teaching
- Within jazz, you are familiar with both traditions and trends as well as the latest developments and are open to other musical styles and art forms
- You have a distinctive profile within your field, are able to inspire students both in saxophone technical-craftsmanship and artistic-innovative work, and guide them competently
- An additional qualification in clarinet is desirable
- You have several years of teaching experience with learners of different ages and educational levels (children, adolescents, and adults)
- You bring solid experience in teaching at a music school; experience in other music education contexts is an advantage
- You know the Swiss education system and are well connected in the music school landscape
- Broad knowledge of different teaching forms as well as the design of individual learning processes
- You hold relevant academic degrees and pedagogical qualifications
- You have further trained in higher education didactics or are willing to do so and understand the implementation of the performance mandate of universities of applied sciences as an exciting field of activity
- You have very good German language skills in spoken and written form
