Workplace: Home office Switzerland or Germany, or Allschwil
For 26 years, thanks to telemedicine, Medgate has made doctors directly available to patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A motivated team of 300 people – including more than 150 permanently employed doctors – actively participate in shaping the medicine of tomorrow at Medgate Switzerland, using forward-looking digital health solutions.
At Medgate, those treating patients remotely initially undergo intensive telemedicine training. The medical guidelines developed for telemedicine needs and continuously improved over the years are practice-oriented and designed for remote treatment. The patient management system supports doctors in their treatment, notably through the use of artificial intelligence. This means doctors have less administrative work and can focus more specifically on patient care. The medicine of the future is already a reality at Medgate.
With flexible working models and reliable shift planning, it is possible to optimally combine work, leisure, and family at Medgate.
Doctor - remote work position, reliable hours (m/f/d)
What we can offer you
- You independently treat patients as a telemedicine doctor within Medgate Switzerland’s 24/7 open service. For this, you communicate with patients mostly by phone or chat, and rarely by video call.
- Our telemedical guidelines support you in final therapy or triage – we handle 50% of all medical requests conclusively.
- An activity rate adapted to your current life phase, between 50 and 100%.
- A work week limited to 42 hours (for a 100% activity rate), which you can organise according to your work and leave preferences.
- There are no overtime hours with us. If additional needs arise, colleagues who can organise themselves for extra shifts volunteer.
- You benefit from at least 5 weeks of paid holiday as well as attractive remuneration and bonuses.
- You can work from home without complications, thus saving unnecessary commuting time in an already busy daily routine: possibility to work from home from Germany and Switzerland. Offices available in Basel/Allschwil (CH) and Chiasso (CH).
- Numerous internal and external (multidisciplinary) continuing education opportunities.
- At Medgate, telemedicine is a discipline in its own right, which is why we train you at the start of your activity at Medgate as a telemedicine doctor. All newcomers receive intensive induction and introduction – which is why Medgate is more a long-term partner than a temporary solution.
Your profile
- You are a doctor: you have completed your medical studies and obtained your medical degree as well as your specialist title in general internal medicine or you have at least 2 years of experience in general medicine.
- You enjoy working in a modern environment: with us, hierarchies are flat and medical teams are self-managed.
- You are passionate about digital technology: with us, the computer is not just a working tool but a colleague that allows us to stay in contact with our patients and simplify the sometimes tedious administrative work as much as possible.
- You are strong in communication and listening: telemedicine doctors see with their ears and form a precise idea of their interlocutor by asking targeted questions. For this, you must have very good knowledge of French and English, or French and German. Mastery of Italian is a plus.
- You like structured and autonomous work: we have perfected telemedicine over the past 26 years and will gladly show you how we achieve the best possible treatment through a structured procedure without needing to study pre-established question catalogues or follow decision trees.
*With equal qualifications, candidates who master several languages are an advantage and may be preferred.
