About the job
The StartWeek is part of the Service Centre "StartWeek & Assessment Year" (Vice-Rectorate for Studies & Teaching) and is designed and managed by an experienced core team of six members. This stable core ensures experiential knowledge and develops the StartWeek year after year. In operational implementation, the StartWeek is annually supported by four student assistants. They take responsibility for defined departments and contribute significantly to the success of this major event as well as the associated course.
The 20-30% working time is to be understood as annual working time. There are busy months (August-September) and less busy phases (May-July).
We offer:- Co-design of the two preparatory courses in the "StartWeek" course (for approx. 190 tutors) and the annual major event StartWeek (for over 2,000 new entrants)

Your tasks
- Recruitment of approx. 190 tutors (students in higher semesters)
- Training of the German-speaking tutors within the framework of two preparatory StartWeek seminars
- Content-related and organisational support and leadership of the German-speaking tutors
- Development and updating of course materials
- Design and maintenance of StartWeek-related course rooms on StudyNet (Canvas)
Your profile
- Organisational and coordination talent
- Reliable, structured, efficient and independent working style
- Confident and competent appearance
- Exceptionally high team spirit and resilience
- Very good Microsoft Office skills
- Very good written and spoken expression in German (level C2) and English (level C1)
- Student at the University of St.Gallen (at least in the 3rd semester, assessment year must be completed)
- Experienced StartWeek as a new entrant
- Ideally already engaged as a tutor in StartWeek
