Construction Manager Building Construction (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced and strong leadership professional for project management in building construction with a focus on construction management, overall project management, and sustainable construction project execution. You will take independent control of demanding building construction projects and lead them from planning to successful completion. The focus is on overall coordination of project participants, leadership of project teams, entrepreneurial project management, as well as cost, schedule, and quality management. The position offers diverse construction projects, a modern working environment, and the opportunity to actively shape innovative, economical, and sustainable solutions in building construction.

Responsibilities:

• Independent overall project management of demanding building construction projects with responsibility for planning, organisation, and successful realisation

• Management of all project phases and construction processes ensuring efficient, economical, and quality-oriented project execution

• Leadership and coordination of interdisciplinary project teams coordinating architects, structural engineers, specialist planners, and contractors

• Cost, schedule, and quality management with ongoing monitoring of project goals and early initiation of appropriate measures in case of deviations

• Preparation and monitoring of project budgets and schedules controlling economic efficiency and adherence to key milestones

• Central contact person for clients and principals on technical, organisational, economic, and strategic project matters

• Coordination and supervision of construction execution ensuring agreed quality standards and project-specific requirements

• Leadership of project, planning, and construction meetings managing decision-making processes and tracking agreed measures

• Negotiation and coordination with contractors and project partners to ensure economical and technically suitable solutions

• Development and implementation of sustainable construction and project concepts considering resource efficiency, economic viability, and long-term building quality

• Optimisation of planning and execution processes introducing innovative methods and continuous improvement of project workflows

• Quality assurance and support of project completion coordinating inspections, defect rectifications, project documentation, and handover

Qualifications:

• Completed studies in architecture or civil engineering or training as a construction technician HF or a comparable construction-technical qualification, ideally supplemented by further training in construction management

• Several years of professional experience in construction and project management in Swiss building construction with proven responsibility for demanding construction projects

• Solid leadership experience in managing interdisciplinary project teams as well as competence in coordinating clients, specialist planners, and contractors

• Extensive knowledge in project management and construction cost controlling with confident handling of cost, schedule, and quality targets

• Entrepreneurial thinking and acting with a high sense of responsibility, economic understanding, and strong negotiation skills

• Strong leadership, assertive and socially competent personality with initiative, teamwork skills, and an independent, solution-oriented working style

• Very good German skills in spoken and written form as well as a strong willingness to learn and interest in sustainable construction methods, innovative technologies, and continuous professional development
