The Office for Forest and Natural Hazards (AWN) is the cantonal specialist office for the forest and protection against natural hazards. The employees of the AWN advocate for the needs of society regarding the forest and ensure sustainable management of the forest.
You ensure that the Graubünden forest
- can protect people, animals and infrastructure,
- is a habitat for diverse animal and plant species,
- is a raw material supplier of wood, water and energy,
- can continue to be a recreational and leisure area for people.
We are looking immediately or by arrangement for a technical clerk for forestry (GIS) data (70-100%)

Your area of responsibility
- As the GIS officer for the "Forest Condition and Development" area, you are responsible for updating, harmonising and further developing our geodata.
- In collaboration with specialists, you calculate forestry key figures and organise their storage and accessibility.
- You automate periodic calculations and modelling.
- According to your qualifications, you support the area in analysing, interpreting and using digital data and key figures. You participate in interdisciplinary GIS projects.
What we expect from you
- University or university of applied sciences degree in geoinformatics, computer science, data science, geography, forest science or a related field. Applicants with relevant professional experience and further training in the GIS/IT sector as well as recent graduates are also warmly welcome.
- High willingness to learn and enjoyment in methodically analysing complex problems, developing pragmatic solutions and quickly implementing new things in practice
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, R and Python is an advantage
- Initiative, reliability and a solution-oriented working style
- Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage.
