About the job
With us, you can expect a versatile outpatient role with high medical responsibility, a specialised professional environment, and regular working hours without night shifts.

Then Checkpoint Zurich might be the right place for your next career step.
Checkpoint Zurich is the health centre for queer people and one of the largest in Switzerland for HIV, sexually transmitted infections, and sexual health. We offer a comprehensive range of medical, psychological, and psychosocial services. Additionally, we conduct campaigns and community work.
Checkpoint Zurich is part of Arud, a non-profit organisation in the field of outpatient medical care, and is operated in cooperation with the Sexual Health Zurich Association. To strengthen our team, we are looking for you by arrangement: a committed and competent Senior Physician Infectious Diseases/HIV.
Your medical focus areas

- STI and sexual health: You conduct specialised consultations for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections.
- HIV prevention: You advise and treat patients within the framework of HIV pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP).
- Interdisciplinary care: You collaborate with professionals from medicine, psychiatry, psychotherapy, and psychosocial counselling. The care spectrum also includes medical support for trans people in the context of gender-affirming hormone treatments.
- Public health and research: If interested, you engage in prevention and research projects related to HIV, sexual health, and the care of diverse population groups. Scientific collaboration with the University of Zurich is possible.
What you bring
- A specialist medical title in infectious diseases or general internal medicine (FMH) or you are close to completion.
- Clinical experience in treating people with HIV and an interest in further developing your skills in HIV medicine and sexual health.
- Strong openness, sensitivity, and genuine interest in diverse life realities, especially in the context of different sexual orientations and gender identities.
- Enjoyment of independent outpatient medicine and long-term patient care.
- Interest in evidence-based, discrimination-sensitive, and interdisciplinary healthcare.
- Good German and English skills as well as understanding of Swiss German. Additional languages are welcome.
What you can expect from us
- Regular working hours: A 45-hour week at a 100% workload, without night shifts.
- Six weeks of holiday: Time for rest and personal interests.
- Professional autonomy: A responsible outpatient role with room for independent medical decisions.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration: A collegial team with short decision-making paths and flat hierarchies.
- Professional development: Training opportunities and the possibility to participate in prevention and research projects.
- Attractive employment conditions: Advantageous pension fund benefits and other perks.
- Central workplace: Your workplace is located directly at Zurich main station.
